Thank you Duncan and all the others who have contributed to this forum, it has been so helpful to us.
We are coming out in 2 weeks times to view some apartments. Our agent has sent us a list of apartments available and the ones in our budget all seem to be in phase one. Would you recommend any particular block and is there an advantage of being near block 59 as opposed to block 1?

Thanks again for your help!

I am in Block 56 so will probably be a bit biased.

The higher numbered blocks are nearer the entrance and therefore nearer the security guards, the supermarket, bar, restaurant and clubhouse. The lower number blocks have less apartments per pool but also smaller gardens.

I don't think there is much to choose between them to be honest, security is good all round the resort, you can use any pool you like and the difference in distance to the pub is only 1.2km from Block 9 compared to 350m from Block 59.

More important is where your block is and how much sunlight you get. Some terraces get early morning sun and shade in the evening and others the opposite. There are some which are pretty shady all day so watch out for them. Ours is South West facing so we don't get the direct sun until mid morning but see a fabulous sunset every night.

The Phase 1 Map should give you a view of distance to the commercial centre. Add around 100m for the length of every horseshoe and 100m between them as a rough guide. The map also has block numbers and orientation so you should be able to figure out which terraces will get morning sun, which will get evening sun and which are in the shade of neighbouring apartment blocks. SunCalc is a fantastic tool that you can use to see the sun's position on any date and time. (Thanks Dave Perry)

Have a good visit and good luck with your search.

We've just been out in February for 2 weeks when we came to furnish our new south-facing, phase 1 apartment. For the first week we rented a north-facing apartment so in winter it's quite nippy but perhaps in summer the cooler environment might be what you want. For the second week we moved into our south-facing phase 1 apartment and even a low sun made it much more comfortable. So we'd endorse what Duncan has said that it really depends when you plan to spend most of your time at the resort and whether you have a preference towards sun or shade in the summer.

As a new owner on Terrazas we're very pleased with the resort. Good luck - hope it goes well for you.

Thank you Duncan and TCAAIVA, your advice was very usefull in helping me decide. We went for block 51 which is partly south facing. The south facing once were more expensive and out of our budget. We hope to complete in a few weeks!

Thanks again!
